Centrally located … the DesertHaus is close to …

Restaurants

Local grill and brewery Uncle Bear’s is walking distance as is OHSO (brewery with lots of outdoor seating). PV Pie and Wine makes a great pizza and The Mexicano is a festive eatery featuring great (you guessed it) Mexican food. Starbucks are a plenty or if you want a local coffee shop – check out 32Shea or Press. Old Town Scottsdale, Kierland, and the Scottsdale feature great restaurants as well.

Activities

Here’s a list of great things you may be interested in checking out during your stay: Desert Botanical Garden, Taliesin West, Scottsdale Museum of Modern Art, Old Town Scottsdale, TopGolf, Talking Stick Resort and Casino, Spring Training (baseball), professional sports (Suns, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Coyotes), college sports (ASU and GCU), golf (see below), free jazz concert every Friday night at Ravenscroft, Musical Instrument Museum, horseback riding, balloon rides, art galleries, Saguaro Lake, Lake Pleasant.

Golf

The DesertHaus condo sits on the Stone Creek Golf Course. Orange Tree Golf Course is only couple of miles away as are Camelback Golf Club and McCormick Ranch Golf Club. The Biltmore isn’t far from the condo either. Lots of options when it comes to golf.

Hiking

Just two miles away is the 40th Street Trailhead for lots of flat trails to hike as well as some elevation if desired. Camelback Mountain (Echo Canyon) is just short drive down Tatum Blvd. It is a wonderful hike but not an easy one as it is all a climb. Piestewa Peak and the McDowells also offer some great hikes. All within a 15-20 min drive. Take lots of water and be careful.

Day Trips

Sedona can be a great day trip – beautiful red rocks, Talequepaque, hiking, galleries, and more. The Grand Canyon is 220 miles away (a four hour drive) and can be done in day if you don’t mind that many hours in the car. Jerome and Prescott are two other possible day trips with a variety of activities in either own. Much closer (just 25 minutes) is Cave Creek with lots of shops with local flavor, art galleries, and restaurants.

Shopping

The local area has lots of great shopping … from Kierland, Scottsdale Quarter, and Scottsdale Fashion Square, you’ll find lots of high end retails. In Old Town Scottsdale, you’ll experience a lot of shops with local flair.

Groceries/Pharmacy

Within walking distance is a Trader Joe’s and a Whole Foods. Local grocery store Fry’s is also close as is a Sprouts. A Walgreens is just outside the entrance to the condo complex.
